Shut the laptop and let the work carry on
An agent on your Mac has the real browser, your files and a shell. An agent on the server never sleeps. You do not have to choose: work runs here and stays recoverable there.
The copy happens while everything still works
A laptop going down cannot be relied on to do anything — the suspend window is short, Wi-Fi is often already tearing down, and none of it exists at all for a flat battery.
So every finished turn pushes its state in the background, with nobody waiting. By the time the lid shuts there is nothing left to send, and at most the turn in flight is lost.
Two honest answers to a closing laptop
Keep it awake when you are leaving it running on purpose, and the agent goes on driving the real app on your Mac. Hand it over when you are actually leaving, and the conversation continues on the server.
A disconnect is not a death. A dropped connection has to stay dropped for a while before anything moves — otherwise a router blinking would migrate your work.
